GREETINGS Saturday School Junior class!

We had a great 16th week in Saturday School juniors! It`s National TV Dinner Day in the USA, so our morning activity was a wordsearch about meals and vegetables.  We also played a game called `Assassin,` in which the kids sit in a circle, and there`s a secret killer who kills each student by winking at him/her.

We read the book `Mrs. McNosh hangs up her wash` by Sarah Weeks. It was very funny.

We also played some smartboard games reviewing vocabulary of food and drinks.

In the afternoon we focused on grammar with prepositions of place, and vocabulary of insects.

Grammar

Prepositions of place: on, between, in front of, behind, next to

Vocabulary

Food theme: dinner, vegetables, applesauce, soup, steak, chicken, fish, hamburger, quinoa, salad, spinach

Insects: beetle, ant, queen ant, grasshopper, stick insect, ladybug.

Next time in Juniors

We`ll focus on reading skills, and proper English pronunciation when speaking, and also improving everyday vocabulary.

 

Please encourage your child to watch English kids shows and movies with English subtitles, and to listen to English songs while reading the lyrics.
