GREETINGS Saturday School Junior class!

We had a great 14th week in Saturday School juniors! We played an ice breaker game, putting an adjective before each child’s name, that matched the first lettter of the name, and remembering all the adjectives with the names.

Since today is International Friendship Day, we did a wordsearch with friend related words, for instance ‘trusting,’ ‘forever,’ and ‘laughter.’ They also wrote a short story and drew a picture of their best friend.

We read the book `Fire came to the earth people’ by Susan Roth.

We also played some games reviewing vocabulary of animals, their habitats and body parts.

Grammar

present progressive, with the verb ‘to be’

pronouns: He, she, they

Vocabulary

friendship theme words: love, laughter, forever, trusting, etc.

boys, men, girls, women

Next time in Juniors

Specifically, we`ll focus on reading skills, and proper English pronunciation when speaking, and also improving everyday vocabulary.

 

Please encourage your child to watch English kids shows and movies with English subtitles, and to listen to English songs while reading the lyrics.
