Parents Day – 2
17th October 2016A Wonderful Adventure at Lego Discovery Center – Preschool Trip
9th November 2016Hello!
We had a lot of fun today learning Halloween related words and phrases and playing with the games and photo booths built for yesterdays International Children’s Festival. It was great to see some of the kids in costume too!
One quick reminder; please do not send treats to school for the kids to share. I now it sounds a bit mean, but it is a school policy not to share food and we need to be careful about allergies, dietary restrictions and other issues with the kids eating things their parents have not prepared for them. Thank you for your understanding.
Today we tried out a new smart board game in the morning; a pirate board game focusing on animals, comparatives and superlatives (which we have studied as a previous topic). We also played some memory/matching games with spooky vocabulary, such as “spider”, “ghost”, “witch”, etc.
Our main vocabulary points for the day were “scary”, “scared” and “Halloween”.
We practiced their spelling, phonetics and pronunciation with the mystery word game.
During our writing time, we went over our spooky vocabulary again, then solved a Halloween message written in a picture code.
At the end of the day we went down to the library and read several stories, including “red fish, blue fish”, “the lost fairy” and “glad monster, sad monster”.
I hope you have a (not too) spooky weekend! see you all next week!
