On the last week of Term 1, we had our annual Japanese Culture Day!

It is a day to celebrate traditional and modern Japanese culture. In the morning all the children enjoyed Nagashi somen(Flowing somen noodles). They did a wonderful job using chopsticks, as well as infant kids and toddlers using their hands instead of chopsticks!

 

In the afternoon we enjoyed many stalls at the gym, including Ring toss, Catching bouncy balls, Coin toss and face painting. As you can see from the pictures, everyone looked great in their Japanese outfits.

 

We had 12 parents helping with the culture day. A huge THANK YOU to our parents and we look forward to having you for the next opportunity!!

 

一学期最後の週に、年に一度の日本文化の日がありました。この日は、日本の伝統的な、また現代の文化を楽しむ一日です。午前中はながしそうめんをしました。みんな上手にお箸を使って食べ、1歳児と2歳児は上手に手を使って食べました。

 

午後にはジムで夏祭りの屋台がありました。わなげ、スーパーボールすくい、コイン落としとフェイスペインティングがありました。写真からも伝わるように、子どもたちも大人たちも素敵な日本の衣装に身を包んで楽しみました。

当日は午前午後を含めて12名の保護者の方がボランティアとして来てくださいました。本当にありがとうございました。また次の機会を心待ちにしています！
